Not legal advice. This document provides general information and must be adapted to your actual data practices. Please seek legal counsel for compliance with applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, local laws).
Scope
This policy applies to the App and any websites, APIs, dashboards, or related services that link to it.
It does not apply to third‑party services that have their own privacy statements.
Quick summary
We request GPS (precise) location to show your position on the map and to notify you about nearby vehicles/personal assets.
Background location is optional and only used if you enable proximity alerts while the app is closed.
We do not sell personal data.
Location history is off by default; if you enable it, you can view, download, or delete it at any time.
You control permissions at any time in your device settings.
Location & notification permissions
What we ask for and why
Permission
Why it’s needed
Mode
Location (GPS)
Display your current location on the in‑app map.
Provide proximity alerts when you are near your registered vehicles or assets.
While Using the App for live map display.
Allow Always / Background only if you enable proximity alerts when the app is not open.
Notifications
To deliver proximity alerts and status updates about your vehicles/assets.
Optional — can be turned off in system settings.
If you disable these permissions, the affected features (map centering, proximity alerts) will not function.
Platform‑specific details
iOS: we may request Allow While Using App; if you enable background proximity alerts, we may request Allow Always so alerts can be delivered when the app is closed.
Android: we may request Approximate or Precise location; if you enable background alerts, we may request Allow all the time (background location).
Background use
When background location is enabled, the App may periodically access your location to check whether you are near your vehicles or assets and to trigger notifications. You can disable background location at any time in your device settings or by turning off proximity alerts in the App.
